Khattar govt failed to contain nCoV: Kumari Selja

Chandigarh, May 2 (UNI) Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Kumari Selja on Sunday said the Khattar government has failed to contain the novel coronavirus which is wreaking havoc in its second wave.

She demanded that an all party meet be conducted to discuss the situation arising out of the covid surge and ways to tackle it.

In a statement, Kumari Selja said, 'There has been an uproar everywhere due to the failures of the government. Corona virus is increasing rapidly in the state. The number of deaths is increasing rapidly. Beds are not available for the corona patients in the hospitals of the state.

Due to lack of oxygen, people are dying continuously. Black marketing of medicines is taking place. Private hospitals are plundering people. The actual figures of the deaths are being hidden.'

She accused the government of sitting idle and not doing much to ward off the virus and bring the situation under control.

'Had the government made arrangements for dealing with the virus in the last one year, situation would have been totally different,' she said.

On vaccination front, she said, most of the districts in the state does not have vaccine to inoculate people against the virus.

Notably, the Haryana government has imposed a complete seven-day lockdown in the state starting May 3, Health Minister Anil Vij said Sunday.
