NEW DELHI: After leading Trinamool Congress to impending victory in West Bengal assembly elections, poll strategist Prashant Kishore on Sunday said that he is set to quit the business of strategizing for elections.
“I do not want to continue what I am doing. I have done enough. Time for me to take a break and do something else in life. I want to quit this space,” said Kishore, in an interview with a TV channel.
As per trends at 4 pm, TMC is leading in the state with 208 seats while BJP is emerging as the second-largest party as it leads in 80 seats. The counting is still underway.
One of India’s top poll strategist, Kishore had declared on December 1, 2020, that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not be able to score double digits in the state but if it does, he’ll quit.
The “I-dare-you” tweet to the BJP published in the midst of no-holds-barred campaigning that Bengal has witnessed over the past few months, is still pinned on Kishore’s social media account.

However, as trends bring a second term for TMC, Kishore, after getting his predictions right, that BJP will not win Bengal, has nonetheless announced his departure.
Talking about his experience in Bengal, Kishore said that the campaigning was made difficult due to Election Commission‘s bias and the party went through “hell” to fight the propaganda built by the BJP to showcase that it was winning.
