ER's freight loading up by 34.25 pc during March 2021

Kolkata, May 02 (UNI) Eastern Railway has carried 8.31 million tonnes
freight during March 2021 as against 6.19 mt during the corresponding
month of the last year 2020 and registered an increase of 34.25 per cent
over the last financial year.
The main commodities loaded were coal, cement, iron ore, stone,
ballast, sand and fly ash.
During March 2021, Eastern Railway earned from freight traffic
Rs 631.33 crore as against Rs.445.55 crore earned
during the corresponding month of the last year. It registered a
substantial growth of 41.70 pc over the corresponding
month of the last year.
