MK Stalin said the state is under the grip of the pandemic and public are facing difficulties in getting admission in hospitals
CHENNAI: DMK leader M K Stalin on Friday called upon his party district secretaries and candidates to remain vigilant until the results of the assembly polls are announced. Appreciating functionaries and candidates for their intensified campaigns during electioneering, Stalin, addressing them through video conferencing, said that they should refrain from public celebrations. “The safety of the cadres and their families is of paramount importance rather than celebrating the victory,” he said in the statement. “Let the streets and roads remain empty, while our hearts overwhelm with joy,” said Stalin. Cautioning against public celebrations, Stalin said it would endanger the cadres as well as general public as the pandemic is raging. Stalin said the state is under the grip of the pandemic and public are facing difficulties in getting admission in hospitals. Under such circumstances, cadres of the DMK and allies should avoid gathering in front of the counting centres on Sunday, he said. They should stay at home and keep track of the election results by watching media, he said.
