He is a regime sycophant! NUP accuses Vision Group boss Wanyama of forging EU letter to maliciously write about Bobi Wine

The National Unity Platform (NUP) leadership has accused Vision Group CEO Don Innocent Wanyama of forging a European Union (EU) letter in order to maliciously write about the opposition party’s top leader Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

On Friday, EU disowned a letter that alleged that the Union had warned Bobi Wine against swearing himself in as the president of Uganda.

The outgoing Kyadondo East legislator came second in the January 14th polls that were won by President Yoweri Museveni. Bobi Wine claimed and still insists the elections were the most rigged in the history of Uganda.

“The European Union has noted with concern your plans of swearing in yourself as the president of Uganda on 11th May 2021, despite not being the democratically elected president….As partners of Uganda’s democratic process, we reject your intentions that undermine the country’s constitution and rule of law…, “the fake EU letter dated 30th April, reads in parts.

Hours later, EU came out to disown the letter.

” Please disregard a fake letter circulating online allegedly written to National Unity Platform President Hon. Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi Bobi Wine from the European Union Ambassador to Uganda H.E Attilio Pacifici. This is the latest of many attempts at disinformation in Uganda. Say no to #disinformation!!!” EU wrote on their official social media pages.

However despite EU flagging the letter, New Vision, a state owned newspaper went ahead to publish an article titled” European Union warns Kyagulanyi against swearing in” using the fake letter as their source, something which left NUP leadership in utter shock and disbelief.

Joel Ssenyonyi, the Kamwokya based political party Spokesperson wondered why New Vision had to write an article basing on a fake letter.

Ssenyonyi said he suspects that the fake letter was probably written by the new CEO of Vision Group Wanyama with intentions of coming up with a malicious story.

“But New Vision!! How do you insist on writing a story based on a fake letter, which has even been flagged by EU as fake. I suspect the fake letter was probably written by the new guy at Vision, with intentions of writing a preposterous story. That’s what happens when a regime sycophant is hired to run a government company, “Ssenyonyi said in a statement on Saturday.
