As a second wave of the coronavirus devastates the country, the surge in the number of deaths has been mind-numbing. As of April 28, the national death toll stood at 201,187. Overwhelmed crematoriums have had to hastily rig up makeshift pyres to keep up with the heavy influx.
Grieving relatives, many already wrung out from their harrowing experience in hospitals, were having to wait 16-20 hours for their turn to cremate their loved ones. Their only hope being to give their parent, child, friend a respectful send-off.
