Foreign forces have started to withdraw: Gen. Zia

Kabul, May 1 (UNI) Afghanistan's acting Defence Minister Gen. Yasin Zia on Saturday confirmed that US and NATO forces have started the process of their withdrawal from the country.
The withdrawal of foreign is in accordance with the May 1 deadline agreed in Doha peace deal.
“The withdrawal of foreign forces has practically started....They will hand over the areas where their logistics issues have been addressed, will be handed (to Afghan forces) by the end of this week,” Tolonews quoted Gen. Zia as saying.
The acting Defense minister added that the US and NATO forces will first leave other bases and will be transferred to Bagram, from where they would leave Afghanistan. The last batch of foreign forces will leave Camp Shorab in Helmand on Sunday.
Speaking at the same press conference, National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib said that he expect the Taliban to continue their violence and that “every Afghan will be a target” for them.
United States has around 2,500 troops in Afghanistan and as per President Biden's plans their would be a complete withdrawal by September 11, this year.
