“Many of the CII member companies in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, life sciences and medical equipment sectors have increased the production of essential medical supplies such as medical oxygen. ventilators, improvised hospitals, ICU beds, inhibitors and other viral drugs that are of immediate requirement for hospitals and primary health centers in the southern region, ”said CK Ranganathan, chairman of the CII region.
As an immediate step, CII member companies are setting up about 500 mobile improvised hospitals as part of their CSR activities. IT companies are working with state governments to set up BPO centers to provide real-time data on the availability of hospital beds, oxygen cylinders and other critical items needed to treat patients.
