After 14 overs, CSK are 126/4: Jadeja survives, twice! First the umpire raises his finger for LBW but DRS shows the ball pitched outside leg. Then the left-hander hits it straight back but a diving Pollard can’t hold on to the catch. Superb spell by the West Indies all-rounder, though. Chennai had so much momentum and they seem to have lost all of it.
At the Arun Jaitley stadium, CSK have lost 3 wickets in a heap and Mumbai Indians have taken control of the game

This is the first time since 2013 that Kieron Pollard has taken 2+ wickets in an IPL match. #IPL2021 #MIvCSK

After 13 overs, CSK are 118/4: Superb over from Chahar, just two singles from it. Chennai have Rayudu and Jadeja at the crease now.
CSK have gone from 112/1 to 116/4!
After 12 overs, CSK are 116/4: WICKET! Kieron Pollard has two in two! Poor batting from Suresh Raina. CSK had just lost their two set batsmen and the senior pro slogs it straight to deep mid-wicket. MI are right back in this!
After 11.4 overs, CSK are 116/3: WICKET! Kieron Pollard gets Faf du Plessis! MI remove both the set batsmen as Faf’s scoop goes to Jasprit Bumrah at short-fine.
The #CSK of 2020 has been completely transformed. 51 from 3 overs in the middle overs!! Unthinkable last year.
— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) May 1, 2021
After 10.5 overs, CSK are 112/2: WICKET! 6, 6, 4, 1, OUT! Faf du Plessis takes Jasprit Bumrah apart but the pacer gives #MI a much-needed breakthrough but getting rid of Moeen Ali. The left-hander edges it to the keeper and has to walk back for a brilliant 58 off 36. Suresh Raina is the new batsman.
After 10 overs, CSK are 95/1: Du Plessis survives! It was a run-out chance but De Kock knocked the bail over with his gloves before gathering the ball. Huge over for Chennai as Neesham is hit for two fours and a six.

50 off 33 balls for Moeen Ali. Such a big difference the confidence of a captain can make in a player. England use him so differently. But CSK believe in Moeen the batsman and it is paying off so far.
FIFTY for Moeen Ali off 33 balls! His fourth IPL half-century. He has hit three fours and five sixes so far. MI struck in the first over but Moeen has put CSK on top with some classy strokeplay.
After 9 overs, CSK are 77/1: Two sixes in that Chahar over! First Moeen drives one over long-off, before du Plessis pulls the last ball over mid-wicket. Chennai are on top!
Moeen Ali has been batting with a lot of flourish this season. Taking chances, but attractive to watch as he relies on timing, not power
— Cricketwallah (@cricketwallah) May 1, 2021
After 8 overs, CSK are 61/1: Six! Neesham, playing his first game for MI, drops it short and Moeen pulls it for a maximum. Eight runs from that over.
After 7 overs, CSK are 53/1: Good start for MI after the timeout. Rahul Chahar joins the attack and concedes just four singles in his first over.
After 6 overs, CSK are 49/1: Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali have hit some glorious shots and ensured CSK don’t lose another wicket after the early blow. Boult concedes seven runs in his third over as Krunal gifts Moeen a four with a misfield at the fence.
Mumbai Indians' Powerplay strike rate this season is a wicket every 60 balls. It's the worst Powerplay strike rate they have recorded for any IPL season. #IPL2021 #MIvCSK
— The CricViz Analyst (@cricvizanalyst) May 1, 2021
After 5 overs, CSK are 42/1: Six! Moeen is timing the ball wonderfully! Another delivery on his pads and he whips it over the rope again. Bumrah concedes nine runs in his first over.
Faf du Plessis has played 40 scoop shots in IPL - nobody has played more. #IPL2021 #MIvCSK
— The CricViz Analyst (@cricvizanalyst) May 1, 2021
After 4 overs, CSK are 33/1: Kulkarni bowls three straight dots to Moeen – a bouncer followed by two yorkers – but the last ball is a high full-toss and the left-hander whips it away for four.
As a right-arm pacer, good length nipping back should be the way to go against Faf du Plessis.
— Stat Doctor🩺 (@stat_doctor) May 1, 2021
Since 2020 in the IPL, Faf has recorded a false shot % of 40% and lost his wicket twice to nip backers off a good length.#MIvCSK #IPL2021
After 3 overs, CSK are 27/1: Six and four! Moeen Ali is up and running with two exquisite shots. Slightly short from Trent Boult and he paid the price for it.
Trent Boult took 16 Powerplay wickets in IPL 2020 - that dismissal of Ruturaj Gaikwad was just Boult's second in IPL 2021. His poor new ball form is a key factor in MI's middling progress so far in #IPL2021. #MIvCSK
— The CricViz Analyst (@cricvizanalyst) May 1, 2021
After 2 overs, CSK are 15/1: Shot! Du Plessis hits a four to open his account and then steps out to thump it straight back for a six. He’s in some form, the South African. Expensive first over of the season for Kulkarni.
After 0.4 overs, CSK are 4/1: WICKET! Trent Boult strikes in the first over and that’s a big blow for CSK! Ruturaj Gaikwad tries to work it to the on side but gets a leading edge to Hardik Pandya at point.
7.30 pm: Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad are at the crease for CSK. Trent Boult has the new ball in hand for MI. Here we go!

Feroz Shah Kotla has been a chasing venue of late. In the last 10 matches at the ground, only twice has the team bowling first lost the game. A big toss to win for Rohit Sharma. #IPL2021 #MIvCSK
