2nd Covid wave occurred early, didn’t get time to act to delay peak: Kerala Health Minister

Speaking on the Covid situation in the state, Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja on April 29 said, “In this Covi-19 wave, the peak occurred early, we did not get time to act to delay the peak. There are many reasons for this including the Assembly elections. We had anticipated a spike in daily cases and doubled our ICU beds, ventilators etc.”
