'Young Rock' & 'Kenan' Renewed for Second Seasons at NBC
Young Rock and Kenan are getting second seasons!
Deadline reports that Dwayne Johnson and Kenan Thompson‘s respective shows have been renewed by NBC.
NBC has said Young Rock, which centers on different chapters of Dwayne‘s life, is the No. 2 comedy of the season in the 18-49 demographic and that the pilot was watched by 13.4 viewers. They added that the show is the highest comedy debut across digital platforms on record through 60 days with 3.6 million digital views.
The network also announced that Kenan ranks as its No. 4 digital comedy launch thus far, with the first episode being seen by over 7.4 million viewers.
In the series, Kenan plays a widowed father who’s attempting to balance a high-profile job with raising his two daughters.
Lisa Katz, President of Scripted Programming at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said in a statement, “It has been a true joy to watch Dwayne Johnson and Kenan Thompson on NBC every week and see families connect with their relatable, entertaining and heartwarming stories.”
