Cosima’s 'Wishing on a Star' is Hauntingly Beautiful & the Must-See Video Will Touch Your Soul

London born-and-based singer Cosima released a new track today, “Wishing on a Star,” a cover originally sung by the beautiful and charismatic soul and R&B singer Gwen Dickey in 1977.

Cosima makes the song her own, a soulful, almost hauntingly beautiful voice that some say is a delicate blend of Sade and Tracy Chapman. We couldn’t agree more!

“I‘ve been an insomniac since I was a child and my parents gave me this little FM radio so that I would have company while I stayed up. There was this one adult contemporary station that I would listen to all night and ‘Wishing On A Star’ would always get played! Ever since then it’s always been one of those songs that brings me comfort,” Cosima shares.

As for the video: “There were just three of us in the studio when we recorded it, I wanted to capture intimacy and melancholy. We shot the video less than a week ago, Max saw the dress hit the sunlight so we paused a different visual we were shooting to quickly catch the sun for this song!”
