Canon is firm to its commitment of “enabling businesses to stay ahead of the curve.” To support organisations—from small businesses to large enterprises—Canon introduces two new models GX6060 and GX7060 MegaTank—designed to help businesses “confidently find the most robust and scalable solution to meet their needs.”

Canon Australia adds the first Maxify models with MegaTank refillable ink tank technology to its Continuous Ink Supply System Printer (CISS) range, the company announced.

As work environments from small businesses to large enterprises evolve, Canon says “it is committed enabling businesses to stay ahead of the curve.” To address this, it introduces two new products—Maxify GX6060 MegaTank and Maxify GX7060 MegaTank—designed to help businesses “confidently find the most robust and scalable solution to meet their needs, whether their employees are working from home, in small offices, or in a co-working environment.

Empowering productivity

Small offices and shared hubs are becoming the norm, and they need reliable device for a smaller number of users.

So, what makes GX6060 and GX7060 functional?

Canon says the “GX6060 and GX7060 MegaTank printers offer fast copying and scanning alongside professional quality prints with the four-colour pigment-based ink system, housed in a compact desktop design.”

As the first in the Maxify range to offer refillable MegaTank ink tank technology, the new devices benefit “from improved maintainability and ease of use, featuring a customisable 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD.”

Downtime is kept to a minimum. Canon estimates the Maxify range can print up to 14,000 pages from a single set of colour ink bottles, up to 6,000 pages from a single bottle of black ink, and a large paper capacity of up to 600 sheets—holding an excess of one standard ream of paper.

The inclusion of a “user-friendly, easy-to-replace maintenance cartridge” to collect any wasted-ink generated during normal printing and cleaning operation also reduces the need to send the printer away for servicing—unlike traditional inkjet printers, which feature a waste ink pad requiring users to engage third-party professional servicing to change in the printer once full.

According to Canon, small offices, shared hubs, and Aussie households have the potential to reduce the ink/toner cost per page by at least 90% compared to the ink MegaTank printers’ ink RRPs to the equivalent laser multifunction printer’s toner RRP—such as the imageclass MF746Cx—when printing like-for-like documents.

Both devices are now compatible with diverse media applications, ranging from envelopes to long (1.2m) banners. As a result, the new refillable Maxify GX models suit shared spaces such as retail, medical, educational, real estate, and hospitality—industries that need a compact printer.

Collaborate, no matter where you are

As the shift towards hybrid working evolves, office devices need to provide collaborative options for users that need to print on the go. Both GX6060 and GX7060 printers offer smart connectivity alongside remote monitoring, management and device operation to ensure businesses never stop moving.

Canon says users “can print, scan, copy, and connect to the cloud via the Canon Inkjet/Selphy app and benefit from compatibility with existing software and technology platforms including AirPrint and Mopria.”

Energy efficient printing

Businesses are operating with constrained budgets and need their print investments to go beyond. Canon’s “reliable, energy-efficient printers optimise consumable and paper resources at every step.”

The models’ economy mode option reduces ink consumption, which small businesses benefit from 50% higher print yields up to 9,000 black and white pages, and 21,000 colour pages versus standard print modes. The low-energy requirements of the inkjet device also mean reduced power consumption, potentially contributing to lower running costs, says Canon.

Brendan Maher, Senior Product Manager, Canon Australia says: “The hybrid reality of office and remote working will continue to evolve over the coming months, and with decades of leadership in both B2B and B2C printing categories, Canon is well-placed, and highly-trusted organisation to help Australians find consistent high-quality, low cost, environmentally conscious print solutions for every work environment.

“Our latest range of Maxify printers are more than just a nod to the changing needs of our customers—they are a demonstration of our commitment to providing a solution for every possible need, whether you’re a single user in a home office, or working collaboratively in a hybrid or hub setting. We’re confident that our customers once again have all the benefits of Canon’s superior technology at their fingertips, to help them make the most of their print investments and future-proof their office setup no matter what it looks like”, Maher concludes.
