BCSO IDs man killed in double homicide on West Side
Apr. 30—ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives have released the name of a man who was shot and killed along with a 15-year-old following a chase and rollover crash last week in Southwest Albuquerque.
Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jayme Fuller identified the man as Anthony Vigil, 22, but did not give the name of the teenage boy. No arrests have been made in the April 19 deaths.
"Investigators have been diligently investigating this double homicide and appreciate the witnesses that have come forward with crucial information on the case," Fuller said in a statement. "Investigators are pursuing every lead to bring the involved individuals to justice."
Deputies responded around 6:20 p.m. to the 1900 block of Coors SW, near Arenal, for a rollover crash. Vigil and the boy were found, both shot to death, inside an upside-down car.
Witnesses told deputies that two or three men in a white car had been chasing and shooting at the car before it flipped. After the car rolled over, witnesses said the men fired several times at the crashed car.
