    That lower belly/back fat!

    Hi,

I am relatively lean on most of my body, however the lower belly and back fat is and always has been a pain in the ass!!

I am currently on a 300-400 calorie deficit (eating 1800-1900 cals but I suspect that I miss calculate a bit). Lift 5 times a week. Easy cardio(walking/spinning) 30 min 5 times a week. 2x30 min HIIT a week.

I have not measured my fat% but am I really not lean enough for this fat to be less? Or do I really have gotten the wrong genes?

And if it’s just a matter of not being as lean as I think, is this fat returning as soon as I return to maintenance after the cut?

You're not as lean as you think. We all have our problem areas and there is no solution other than fat loss. The main problem is that most people end up looking much skinnier that they expected to if they mainly focus on fat loss. There is a lot of muscle to be built to make even a modestly lean muscular appearance.
