Query: My lungs got severely impacted by the COVID infection. Today is my 10th day in the hospital and I am on my road to recovery. But patients around me are very critical and have acute cough and breathing issues. I am on oxygen myself and try to keep my face covered but I am scared of catching the infection again. Is that possible?

Response by COVID doctor, Dr Abhishek: While the way the virus is mutating and changing its behaviour, anything is possible. But if you have just come out of the infection, it is less likely for you to get reinfected in the hospital. It’s more of a psychological concern than a real concern. Having said that, once you are discharged and you go home, it’s important to continuing taking all the necessary COVID precautions and follow all protocols. Work on strengthening your lungs and take a healthy wholesome diet. Speedy recovery!
