Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Matia Mahal, Shoaib Iqbal, has asked the Delhi High Court to impose the president’s rule in the city as the situation in the city getting worst due to coronavirus. There will be dead bodies on the road if the president’s rule not being imposed.
In a video, Iqbal said he is in pain to see Delhi’s covid-19 situation. He said he can not sleep at night because people are dying due to a lack of medicines and a shortage of oxygen in the city.
Iqbal said one of his friend is suffering covid, battling against covid-19 and not getting oxygen or a ventilator. He said the doctor has prescribed him remdesivir but he is not getting the medicines as the city seeing a shortage of medicines. Matia Maha said the patient’s children are running around to get prescribed medicines but they are helpless. Today, I am ashamed of being an MLA because we are not being able to help and the government is not being able to help either, Iqbal said
Reacting to Iqbal’s statement, Delhi Congress Vice-President Abhishek Dutt said Indian Army should be given permission to take over Delhi to manage the covid situation. He also said the government had decreased the RT-PCR testing in the city that is why the death rate due to covid is not being reported properly.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Friday said, India has witnessed 3,86,452 fresh covid cases, which is the biggest single-day spike since the pandemic has begun. The current caseload of covid in India has mounted to 1,87,62,976. India has witnessed over 3 lakh fresh covid cases since the last few weeks.
