Neena Gupta recalls how she used to work 'for money' to raise daughter Masaba as a single mother

Veteran actress Neena Gupta, who often drops adorable posts of herself with her daughter Masaba and shells out major mother-daughter goals recently opened up about the hardships she faced while raising her. In her recent interaction with an entertainment portal, the film 'Badhaai Ho' actress while confessing that in order to raise Masaba, earlier she used to work only 'for money', she said, 'Earlier, I used to work to be able to raise Masaba. I had to do work that I wasn't entirely pleased with. That used to be my main focus'. However, she further added that now the scenario has changed and her daughter Masaba encourages her to explore the creativity in her work. She said, 'But now, it's the other way around. Now that I am married, I don't really have to work to earn money. Now she pushes me to work, which is very nice.' For the unversed, Masaba was born in 1989 and is the daughter of Neena Gupta and former West Indies cricketer Vivian Richards. However, the duo did not get married and the actress finally found love in Vivek Mehra, a Delhi-based charted accountant whom she tied the knot in 2008 when Masaba was 19. Talking about her daughter, Masaba, who had a successful career as a fashion designer recently made her acting debut with a web show and is said to be dating actor Satyadeep Misra. Meanwhile, Neena Gupta, an avid social media user is currently at her home in Uttarakhand's Mukteshwar. While giving a glimpse of her stay in the hills amid the coronavirus pandemic, the actress in one of her Instagram video said, 'As soon as the lockdown was announced in Mumbai, I immediately came away to my home in Mukteshwar'. Recently, she even shared a video from her home wherein she could be heard crooning a song 'Baki bhi kat jayega'.
