Karimnagar: The final rituals of Litti, a 13-year-old police dog, who died on Wednesday due to ill health, were held here on Thursday with police honors.
The German Shepherd’s sniffer dog joined the dog department of the police department in 2009 and played an important role in detecting explosives.
Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy, Additional DCP (Administration) G Chandramohan, ASP Rithiraj and other police officers paid tribute to the dogs and laid wreaths on the body here at the commissioner.

In addition to the former Karimnagar, Litti has found explosive material in various parts of Andhra Pradesh since 2009 as part of the duty and saved the lives of a number of police personnel.
Litti received rewards and appreciation from DGP and other police officers. He said Litti’s death was a huge loss for the police department, and said police dogs that die would be treated on an equal footing with police martyrs.
