Former AIADMK stalwart and Minister Aranganayagam passes away

Chennai, Apr 29 (UNI) Mr C Aranganayagam, former AIADMK
stalwart, who had served in the MGR and J Jayalalithaa Cabinets,
passed away due to age related issues at a private hospital on
Thursday evening.
He was 90 and was a close associate of MGR.
He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly on four occasions,
two each from Thondamuthur and Coimbatore West seats.
He had served as the education Minister during the tenure of
AIADMK Founder MGR and Ms Jayallaithaa.
He was one of the most respected leaders in the AIADMK and
threw his weight behind MGR when he walked out of the DMK
and started the AIADMK.
However, for a brief while, he quit the AIADMK and joined the
DMK. He later returned to his parent party and has been keeping
a low profile due to his old age.
AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam and Joint Coordinator
Edappadi K Palaniswami condoled the death of Mr Aranganayagam
and recalled his contributions made for the growth of the party.

Hyderabad, Apr 29 (UNI) A day after Serum Institute reducing its coronavirus vaccine ‘Covishield price to Rs 300 from Rs 400 per dose for states, Bharath Biotech on Thursday also decided to reduce the price of its Covaxin vaccine to Rs 400 from the earlier rate of Rs 600 per dose for supply to States.

Laurus Labs Q4 results: Net profit registers multi-fold to Rs 297 cr

Hyderabad, Apr 29 (UNI) Laurus Labs, a leading research and development-driven Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology company, on Thursday reported a net profit of Rs 297 crore for the fourth quarter of FY 21 with a 170 per cent increase year-on-year against 110 crore in Q4 previous year.
