Prithvi Shaw has been in the form of his life off late and the opening batsman just showed the same on Thursday as he smashed six fours in one over in Delhi Capitals' match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Kolkata Knight Riders gave the ball to Shivam Mavi, Shaw's 2018 Under-19 teammate and the 21-year old's eyes lit up and given the target was not that daunting, Shaw had the freedom to go for his shots and he didn't miss any chance.

The first ball of the over was wide and what followed was carnage. First ball, a full ball Mavi tried to search for swing, however the length was too full and Shaw smashed it over the bowler's head. The second ball, straighter line but too full again and he flicked it over the mid-wicket nonchalantly.

The third ball, another overpitched delivery and this time a little wide and Shaw slapped it towards the covers. The fourth delivery, an attempted slower delivery which was a full toss and Shaw hit towards the covers again for the fourth boundary of the over.

The fifth delivery, a shorter one but outside off and Shaw magnificently steered it behind the point boundary for his fifth four of the over. The final ball, another full ball outside off and Shaw lofted it over extra cover and Shaw had his sixth boundary in the sixth ball he played in the game.

Delhi Capitals were 25/0 after the first over itself and Shaw was just unstoppable.

Shaw became the second batsman in the history of the IPL to achieve this record after Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane hit six fours in the 2012 edition of the IPL playing for the Rajasthan Royals against the Royal Challengers Bangalore's left-arm seamer Sreenath Aravind, on the way to his maiden century in the IPL.

Shaw went on to score the fastest half-century of this season in just 18 balls before he was dismissed by Pat Cummins for a brilliant knock of 82 runs off just 41 balls including 11 fours and three sixes.
