- Odisha: ESMA invoked to prohibit strikes

The government on Wednesday invoked the Odisha Essential Services (Maintenance) Act (ESMA) to prohibit strikes in services like manufacturing, filling and transportation of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) by the manufacturers, transporters and fillers during the Covid crisis. The step has been taken to ensure smooth manufacture, filling and transportation/distribution of LMO in Odisha and to avoid any hindrance. The order will remain in force for a period of six months
