Maharashtra: Kalyan shopkeeper unleashes pet dogs on cop for taking action for not wearing mask

Two of the shopkeepers were arrested by the police while the hunt to nab the other was still on.
KALYAN: A policeman suffered injuries after a shopkeeper in Dombivli town in Thane district unleashed his two pet dogs on a police team which visited his shop for flouting Covid-19 norms.
The police team along with the staff of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation had visited the shop of the accused to take action against him and two others for not wearing masks.
Following the incident, the local police booked the trio identified as Satyanarayan Gupta (43), Anand Gupta (27) and Aditya Gupta (25) under the different sections of the Indian Penal code.
The police also arrested Satyanaraya and Anand while hunt for Aditya was going on.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at Khambalpada area in Dombivli.
A police officer said the squad took the photographs of the accused shopkeepers and asked them to pay fine of Rs 1500 each. However, the shopkeepers said they will not pay fine and started misbehaving with the cops.
