Hyderabad: visitors may not enter the secretariat, government offices

Hyderabad: Due to the huge increase in COVID-19 cases in Telangana, there will be strict supervision in the State Secretariat and other government offices. Visitors will henceforth no longer be allowed in the departmental head offices, it was learned.

Visitors could enter the state secretariat complex earlier. Now not only commissioners, but even departmental board offices and other government offices across the state will be out of bounds for visitors. In addition, government officials also attended on alternate days, but the state government does not want to concede.

Instead, visitors barred access to government offices to rescue employees from becoming infected with the COVID-19 virus. The employees of the secretariat apparently complained about the lack of space in the complex, while the provisional secretariat was hastily erected at the BRKR Bhavan near Tank Bund. In such a situation, the employees and officials could not keep social distance.

According to sources, there were already more than 600 employees of the government and secretariat COVID-19 positive and fear of infection gripped more employees. Consequently, visitors will not be allowed in the government offices except in urgent cases, with the permission of the official after proper investigation.

More than 100 employees of the secretariat were infected COVID-19. In fact, the personal assistant of the Narayanpet District Collector is also dead COVID-19. The government can take further measures to protect civil servants and officials. According to the employee unions, the situation will not improve until the employees are admitted on alternative days.
