Rukungiri: Gambling gone bad as one is murdered after disagreement

Police in Rukungiri district is investigating circumstances under which a 31- year old man was murdered,after developing a disagreement with a colleague while gambling.

It is alleged that on Monday afternoon, the deceased-Tukahirwa Simon resident of Nyamubogore cell, Nyibingo parish, Kebisoni Subcounty in Rukungiri district left home and went to Dubai trading centre for gambling (playing cards) and met a one Akampurira Brason aged 18(suspect) with whom they started gambling.

In the process the two developed a quarrel and ended up fighting and the suspect hit the deceased on the head with a stick and he collapsed instantly.

The relatives rushed him to Nyakibare hospital for treatment,but later died on Tuesday.

The suspect is being hunted.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson has confirmed the development.
