IPL 2021 Orange Cap: CSK’s Faf du Plessis jumps to 2nd spot, SRH’s David Warner enters top 10 list- CSK opener Faf du Plessis has jumped to 3rd spot in the IPL Orange Cap table. He overtook Glenn Maxwell and KL Rahul on the elite list. Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner has also entered the top 10 list after making a plethora of records in the match against MS Dhoni’s CSK. He smashed his 50th fifty in the cash-rich league, completed 10,000 T20 runs and 200 sixes in IPL.
– Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Devdutt Padikkal moved back in the Top 10 of IPL 2021 Orange Cap race against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. His teammate Glenn Maxwell moved back top Top 3 with 25 runs against DC. Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan, meanwhile maintained his top position after scoring just 6 against RCB on Tuesday. Padikkal moved to the 7th spot with 17 runs. He now has 188 runs in five innings.
PBKS captain KL Rahul with 19 off 20 cemented the 2nd spot on IPL 2021 Orange Cap against KKR. Meanwhile, KKR’s Rahul Tripathi entered Top 10 with a 41-run knock on Monday. Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan remained top of the Orange Cap leaderboard after scoring 28 against SRH on Sunday.
In the first match of the day, Chennai Super Kings opening batsman Faf du Plessis has jumped to the Top 3 places in the Orange Cap leaderboard. He has scored over 200 runs in just 5 innings of the IPL 2021. On Sunday, he provided a top start to CSK against RCB.
Kolkata Knight Riders opener Nitish re-entered top 6 of IPL 2021 Orange Cap Leaderboard in the match against Rajasthan Royals with 22 off 25. With 186 runs, he is currently placed at No 4. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson also re-entered the Orange Cap race with an unbeaten 42 against KKR on Saturday. Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan continues to lead the charts with 231 runs.
Rules for IPL Orange Cap
- The award is given to the leading run-scorer of the IPL season.
- The batsman with the most runs in the tournament during the season would wear the Orange Cap while in the field.
- In case of a tie, the batsman with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
- The Orange Cap owner who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap till the end of the innings even if an opposition batsman has overtaken his runs.
