Sydney: Australia’s Adam Zampa has said the bio-bubble for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 is the most vulnerable he has been in so far due to the Covid-19 situation in India.
“We were a few (bubbles) now and I feel it’s probably the most vulnerable,” Zampa told The Sydney Morning Herald.
Zampa said the tournament should be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) just like last year.
‘I only feel because it’s India, and we’re always told about the hygiene here and to be extra careful … I just felt it was the most vulnerable. The IPL held in Dubai six months ago did not feel that way at all. I felt it was extremely safe. Personally, I feel that it would originally have been a better option for this IPL, but of course there are a lot of political things involved, ‘said Zampa.
The spinner, who was part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) this year before deciding to leave India for a few matches after the tournament. He said that the next discussion will probably be about whether the T20 World Cup, which will be held in October and November, should be hosted in India or not.
‘Of course there is the T20 World Cup that will take place here later this year. This will probably be the next discussion in the cricket world. “Six months is long,” he said.
Zampa said that although the conversation about the IPL played to give people who were suffering a respite, he felt he found it difficult to motivate to practice, especially since he was not a first-choice pick in Game XI. not.
‘There are a lot of people out there who say that cricket games can be a procrastination for some people, but it will also be a personal answer. “Someone who has a family member on their deathbed probably does not care about cricket,” he said.
‘It is clear that the COVID the situation here is pretty dire. I just felt like training and so, of course I do not play in the team, I go to practice and do not find the motivation, ‘he added.
Zampa and Kane Richardson, who also play for RCB, fly out of Mumbai on April 28 just after midnight. The two Aussies will return home via Doha, Qatar, as did compatriot Andrew Tye a few days back.
