Deutsche Telekom may use objection right to prevent subsidised fibre from overlaying its vectoring lines

Wednesday 28 April 2021 | 11:28 CET | News
Deutsche Telekom wants to prevent its vectoring lines from being overlaid by fibre subsidised by the Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), Golem.de reports. The BMVI is to subsidise municipalities or districts to cover so-called grey spots, meaning areas with an internet service below 100 Mbps. Telekom will look at using its right to object, as allowed under the funding guideline, where the deadline for a subsidy for a Next Generation Access (NGA) network has not yet expired, a company spokesperson told Golem.de.
