MassMutual GCC in Hyderabad to scale up the number of people by 2021

Hyderabad: The US life insurer Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), as part of its continued growth of Global Business Services India, its Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad, is expanding its employee base by 2021 by 450 to over 1000 and doubling despite of the pandemic scenario, the next few months a physical space of 75,000 square feet to 1,50,000 square feet.

The GCC was inaugurated in January 2021 by KT Rama Rao, Minister of Telangana Industries, when the company announced its plans to invest more than R1000 million for its Global Capability Center in Hyderabad, spread over the next five years.

The Fortune 500 company has estimated plans to increase its rental target in Hyderabad based on the continued digital focus and the availability of qualified talent in India. To accommodate the growing number of employees, the center has expanded to another floor in the same location – Vamsiram’s BSR IT SEZ Park, which has created a total workspace of 1,50,000 square feet.

“We are currently a workforce of about 450 employees and leadership areas in a number of organizational functions,” said Ravi Tangirala, head of GCC in India.

‘With the aim of further expanding the hiring of various roles in the technology landscape, we want to reach more than 1,000 employees by the end of this year. We are looking for roles in Full Stack Development & Support, DevOps, Quality Assurance, Security & Cloud Engineering, Data Science and various other areas, ”Tangirala added.

MassMutual’s GCC team in India has been interviewing and employing since the start of the pandemic. The company said its hiring process reflects an inclusive 360-degree approach, supporting the growing diversity in the local workforce.

Tangirala serves as a member of the Telangana State Government Advisory Board, representing the banking, financial services and insurance sector, providing guidance and expertise in IT policy, as well as encouraging innovation. MassMutual currently employs more than 6,000 people worldwide.
