Noted Odia writer Manoj Das passes away in Puducherry

Noted Odia writer Manoj Das passed away in Puducherry on Tuesday. He was 87. Born in 1934 in Odisha, he went on to make an indelible mark in the realm of both Odia and English literature.

Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Chandra Sarangi among others, have deeply condoled the passing away of Das. Expressing deep sorrow over the demise, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requested the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry to cremate his mortal remains with full state honours.
