IIT Guwahati to set-up School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, admission by JEE rating

Indian Institute of Technology-Guwahati will set-up School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence for college students at undergraduate and postgraduate stage. The first batch of B Tech college students for this faculty can be admitted by JEE rating within the tutorial yr 2021-22. In this reagard, IIT-Guwahati in the present day signed an MoU with the Mehta Family Foundation (MFF), USA.
The MoU was signed nearly by Prof TG Sitharam, Director, IIT Guwahati, and Rahul Mehta, chief govt officer, Mehta Family Foundation, USA. Rahul Mehta mentioned, “The explosion of data across all fields of knowledge continues unabated. Just like computer science changed the world, data science and artificial intelligence are posed to do the same. These fields will shape the methods used in education and research across the spectrum of human knowledge. Global interdisciplinary collaborations as envisioned in this new school will lift our understanding of society and nature. Bringing together global talents such as Professor Shankar Subramaniam, Professor Rajesh Gupta (both Univ. of California, San Diego), and Professor Ananth Grama (Purdue Univ.) can accelerate the expansion in these fields.”
Through this MoU, MFF will present help for the event of the college’s infrastructure and packages at IIT Guwahati campus. The faculty will provide programmes for visiting college students and school between the college and US establishments. The faculty will host conferences and set up chairs attracting world-class expertise.
The faculty may even have entry to distinguished professors from prime US universities offering time and experience for tutorial and analysis actions on this new faculty.
Prof R Bhattacharjee, head, Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, IIT Guwahati mentioned the curriculum has been developed to supply a powerful theoretical basis in addition to emphasis on totally different interdisciplinary software areas.
