While the film was scheduled to hit the screens on May 13, the makers have postponed its release and shared a statement on Twitter, which reads, "Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, #Acharya movie will not be releasing on May 13. New Release date will be announced once the situation becomes normal.

Talking about the film, it is directed by Janatha Garage and Srimanthudu helmer Koratala Siva and produced under the banners of Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainments. Ram Charan will also be seen in SS Rajamouli's RRR, which is one of the most-anticipated films of the year. Produced by DVV entertainment, the film also stars Jr NTR, Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Shriya Sharan in key roles. The film is set to hit the screens on October 13 at the box office.
