Synopsis

Reaching out to people in an emotional post, the Congress general secretary said, "My heart is heavy as I write to you today. I know that many of you have lost your loved ones in the last few weeks, many have family members who are struggling for life, and many are grappling with the disease at home, anxious and afraid of what is to come."

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra contested the Yogi Adityanath government’s claim of Covid-19 cases falling in Uttar Pradesh and that there was no shortage of oxygen and other essential medical items in the state.

In a letter to the chief minister on Tuesday Gandhi Vadra, All India Congress Committee general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh, alleged that Covid-19 cases were rising in UP but the state administration was undertaking fewer tests and “underreporting” of deaths was taking place. She asked the state government to take urgent steps to contain the situation.

“The biggest concern is that the rate of coronavirus cases is rising, while testing is very low. A large number of cases are not being reported,” said Gandhi Vadra. “There is no testing in rural areas and people in the urban areas also are facing a lot of difficulties in getting their tests done. Test reports do not come for several days. In a state with a population of over 23 crore, there are only 126 government test centres and 115 private centres.”

The Congress leader also alleged underreporting of deaths. “This game of underreporting deaths is being played every day in every district, in every town of UP. It is being done on whose directions?” she said.

She lamented that patients were facing a shortage of medical facilities including adequate hospital beds and oxygen cylinders.

People are already helping each other and they don't need free advise from Dynasty family sitting on a wealth built from scams in last 70 years. Instead of giving free advises work on the ground along with your brother in those states where INC Govt. is in power.

is she mad? hasn't the gi r opened vaccination for everyone from may 1? hasn't the govt been importing cryogenic tankers, oxygen concentrators and vaccine raw materials in huge quantities from abroad? Hasn't the govt been setting up hospitals through army, ITBP, railways and DRDO? Hasn't the govt been running oxygen express and floating global tenders for 50,000 Mt of oxygen. the central govt also stopped states from fighting amongst themselves by allotting quota of oxygen to each state? Hasn't the govt declared that it will continue providing free food to 80 crore Indians for the next 3 months till June? Tell me where the govt has abdicated its responsibility.
