Former Olympic athlete Capobianco also serves as a non-executive director of Provider Choice, a director of The Trading Desk, and is an advisor to Karlsgate and LiveHire.
He previously held senior roles at LiveRamp (formerly Acxiom), China Search International, CareerOne, NineMSN, Overture, and News Interactive.
"The geospatial industry continues to evolve with the constant search for new data sources, tools and solutions, and I'm excited to lead Geoscape into its next phase of growth and innovation," said Capobianco.
"Helping governments, industries and organisations make critical decisions, transform their businesses and deliver improved products and services is important for the future of all Australians."
Capobianco studied business administration at the University of Technology Sydney, and co-founded an indigenous youth sports program designed to create opportunities for aspiring young talent.
