KLIS helps Nizamsagar regain charm

Nizamabad: The Nizamsagar project is constantly receiving inflows from the Kaleshwaram project. The project receives 593 tons of water daily. Nizamsagar will soon regain its charm by reaching the FRL level and supplying irrigation water to 2.31 lakh acres in the former Nizamabad district.

With the efforts of Telangana Government and Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the Nizamsagar project will gain its luster and supply irrigation water to Kamareddy and Nizamabad districts. The Nizamsagar project has 2.31 lacquer acres in the former Nizamabad district, but due to the minimum water levels, it has supplied irrigation water to more than 1.5 lakh acres.

However, the project receives continuous inflow from Kaleshwaram through the Konda Pochamma Sagar project.

The Telangana government planned to restore the Nizamsagar project through the Mallanna Sagar project, but due to the slow progress of the Mallanna Sagar works, water was temporarily released from the Konda Pochamma Sagar project by the Haldi Vagu stream.

According to Nizamsagar AE Shiva Prasad, the project receives 593 choices per day. From a capacity of 1,405 feet, the project now has 1,394.53 feet of water level. Of the storage capacity of 17,802 tmc, the project now has 6,522 tmc of water.

Nizamabad farmers for the first time expressed their gratitude to the Minister of Irrigation Water by Kaleshwaram. The villagers of Hasanpally and Magdumpur of Nizamsagar Mandal placed milk on the portrait of the minister to express gratitude.
