Rajasthan: Officials in Barmer will keep tabs on marriage parties

JAISALMER: Government personnel have been deployed in the entire subdivision including Barmer city to ensure that people follow Covid protocol during marriage ceremonies.
SDM and other officers have been directed to monitor the marriages and ensure that the 50 guest permission is followed.
District collector Lokbandhu Yadav said all the marriage functions should be videographed. He asked SDOs to appoint a government personnel at each marriage in their areas to ensure Covid protocol.
Yadav asked officials to work on a war footing at the ground level. During a video conference, he reviewed the measures takes to prevent infection in the district. SP, additional district collector and other officials were present during the video conference. He said the Covid crisis was turning from bad to worse and in such a situation complete monitoring at the ground level was required. He asked the village-level committees to keep a watch on people coming from outside and to ensure their 15-day home quarantine.
He asked health officials to increase testings to identify the Covid patients. Yadav asked all the block level officers to remain in headquarters and not to leave without his permission. He asked them to divide the entire block into sector and appoint sector officers to deal with the crisis. On Sunday, Yadav went around the city and warned youth roaming on roads to follow the guidelines.
