Indian Idol 12 has been making headlines, be it for the right or the wrong reasons. Two weeks ago, host Aditya Narayan had gone into self-isolation after he contracted COVID-19. Contestants such as Pawandeep Rajan and Ashish Kulkarni were also found positive for the deadly virus. Aditya was then replaced by Rithvik Dhanjani and Jay Bhanushali who took over the show's hosting duties. Aditya has now recovered from the virus and finally joined the sets of Indian Idol 12. And this time, judges Neha Kakkar, Himesh Reshammiya and Vishal Dadlani will be missing in action. Here's why. A few days ago, it was reported that Neha will give Indian Idol 12 a miss since she has some prior commitments to fulfill and won't be available to shoot for the singing reality show on the same date. Veteran actress Jaya Prada had then filled in for Neha on the judges panel last weekend. And this week, Himesh and Vishal will be replaced by lyricist Manoj Muntashir and composer Anu Malik as judges. And the reason behind Himesh and Vishal's absence is that the show is currently being shot in Daman. Aditya re-joined the shoot after being in quarantine for two weeks while Himesh and Vishal chose not to travel to Daman. So this weekend episode will be judged by Manoj Muntashir and Anu Malik. "While I was in quarantine, it was challenging. I really love my work and I was not able to join the shoot since I had to follow covid protocols and be in isolation. I think it is very important to be extremely careful and follow all the guidelines at this stage," Aditya told IANS.
He added, "While in quarantine, I was missing all the contestants, the judges, the musicians and the entire team of Indian Idol. I cherish the beautiful memories and super fun moments on set that I have experienced over the past few months. It finally feels good that I am all set to return to the stage, full of new vigour, zeal and, of course, antibodies."
On the other hand, Pawandeep and Ashish will also be seen performing this week and once again entertain their fans after their absence due to COVID-19. Both the contestants had contracted the virus and were kept in isolation in a hotel room. There are currently top 9 contestants performing on the show.
