Dead not going to be alive again because of furore: Khattar on corona deaths

Haryana Chief Minister has stated that “we don’t have to play with the data” of Covid-19 deaths adding “a person who has died, is not going to be alive again because of the furore created by us”.

Khattar was replying to journalists in Rohtak Monday when the scribes alleged that the details related to the Corona deaths were not being shared with them. The CM said, “In the way this crisis has come, we don’t have to play with the data. Our entire focus should be on how the health of people improves and how we can provide relief to them. Ab jiski death ho gayi hai, wo wapas hamare shor machane se jivit hota nahi hai (Now, a person who has died, is not going to be alive again because of the furore created by us.”

“We will make every effort that all people should be saved. There is no meaning in falling in this controversy whether the deaths are less or more. It’s meaningful whether we are able to improve our system or not. We are improving our systems. Neither you knew nor we, that this pandemic will come. To fight this, there is a need of everybody’s cooperation; yours, mine and of the patients. So, such issues should not be made subject to a controversy.”

When the journalists claimed that “after evening, the phones of officials including of the health department are found switched off and nobody becomes available to offer relief,” the CM insisted, “This is not the case.”

“We too call (them), their phones are continuously functional. The entire system is in place,” added Khattar.

The CM also explained why admissions to new Covid patients were briefly stopped by the authorities of PGIMS, Rohtak on Sunday night because of “low pressure of oxygen”.

“What happened at 11 pm yesterday (Sunday)? The pressure of oxygen reduced. Had they started admitting (more) patients when the oxygen pressure was low… Was there no need to take care of those who were already admitted? They stopped (fresh admission) till the pressure of (oxygen) was low. As soon as it improved, they started admitting patients again…We should move forward keeping in view the limitations of everybody.”
