Maharashtra: BJP MLA to provide Covid-19 vaccine to people using money saved for son's marriage

KALYAN: BJP MLA from Kalyan (Eest) Ganpat Gaikwad has decided to utilise the money he had saved for his son's marriage to provide Covid-19 vaccine to the people.
Gaikwad had saved Rs 18 lakh for his son's marriage function but considering the rising coronavirus cases and recently imposed restrictions, he decided to use the funds to vaccinate around 1,500 people in his constituency.
Gaikwad's son Vaibhav's wedding is scheduled for May 4.
Gaikwad said he has approached companies supplying vaccines in country and very soon he will start vaccination in his constituency after taking the required permissions.
Earlier on Friday, Gaikwad had approached Thane collector Rajesh Narvekar requesting him to use his MLA fund of Rs 1 crore to set up an oxygen generation plant in Kalyan.
