Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 6,599 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 4,14,056. Active caseload in the state stands at 49,075. Out of the 6,599 new infections, 3,827 were reported from quarantine centres while 2,772 persons contracted the virus locally.
Khurda district has registered the highest number of new cases with 958 persons testing positive for the disease, followed by Nuapada with 551 new infections.
A total of 99,17,894 swab samples have been cumulatively tested in the state so far. The number of new recoveries stands at 3,464.

Other districts that have reported new COVID-19 cases are: Angul (187), Balasore (137), Bargarh (203), Bhadrak (87), Bolangir (98), Boudh (70), Cuttack (488), Deogarh (38), Dhenkanal (20), Gajapati (81), Ganjam (323), Jagatsinghpur (93), Jajpur (237), Jharsuguda (436), Kalahandi (518), Kandhamal (35), Kendrapara (38), Keonjhar (166), Koraput (69), Malkangiri (22) Mayurbhanj (180), Nabarangpur (221), Nayagarh (91), Puri (145), Rayagada (117), Sambalpur (226), Subarnapur (129) and Sundargarh (434).
The State Pool reported 201 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside the state and have tested positive.
