AMBALA: Health minister
Anil Vij on Monday requested the Haryana unit of the
Indian Medical Association (IMA) to provide doctors and paramedical staff for new Covid hospitals being set up in Haryana.
“Haryana IMA is humbly requested to come forward in this Corona crisis. We want to create extra Corona hospitals at places of need. For that we are in need of more Doctors. Please come forward.”
“We want to establish more hospitals. Especially, in
Gurugram for which we have initiated the talks. Some people have come forward and assured that they can make all the arrangements. One of the persons has talked of arranging a hospital with 400 beds with all the required equipment. Similarly, another person has started the installation process of 200 beds. But we need doctors and for the same, I have made a humble request to the IMA,” Vij said.
“Presently, in Haryana, we have problems only in Gurgaon where about 70% of the patients are from Delhi. But whoever is there, we have to make arrangements for them. And whatever we can do we will surely do,” the minister said..
When asked about the people dying in Haryana hospitals due to non-availability or shortage of oxygen, Anil Vij said, “Investigations have been launched into the deaths reported in Rewari and Gurgaon. Let the facts come to light and in case, if anybody’s incompetency is found, strict action will be taken.”
