South Africa's Kevin Anderson produced a stunning fightback on Monday, coming from a set down to beat Frances Tiafoe of the United States to advance to the last 16 at the Estoril Open.

Anderson won in three sets, 4-6, 7-6(7/6), 7-6(7/4) in a match that lasted 2:48.

After losing the first set, Anderson dug deep to see off a match point in the second set before taking both that and the final set for victory.

The big serving South African managed 20 aces during the match and a first serve percentage of 67%.

He will face Kei Nishikori in the next round.

Anderson's compatriot, Lloyd Harris is also still in the tournament.

He faces Marco Cecchinato on Tuesday in a round of 32 clash.
