New IETF standard expands LoRaWAN use cases

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) announced the release of RFC 9011, a new standard specifying the use of internet protocols over LoRaWAN. This represents another important milestone for the LoRaWAN ecosystem, following the publication of RFC 8724 in April 2020, defining the SCHC framework (Static Context Header Compression). The RFC 9011 release also focuses on the use of SCHC, standardizing the transport of internet packets over LoRaWAN.
