By May, majority of tourism employees in Bulgaria will be vaccinated

In Bulgaria tourism, majority of the employees associated with will be vaccinated by the end of May, the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) expects.

BHRA explained on April 25th that good amount of preparation had been made to immunize the employees of tourism sector, of both the southern and northern Black Sea coasts. Vesselin Nalbantov, a member of the association’s executive, mentioned that the hotel and restaurant staff names on Bulgaria’s southern Black Sea coast were being sent to the Tourism Ministry. These names could be passed on to health services department, to be included in “green corridors” for tourism industry staff. Priority vaccination of employees in tourism is one of the key measures to get the summer tourism season of Bulgaria in progress and draw vacationers by promoting the country as a safe destination, the association said. Several hotel employees and on the northern Black Sea coast are very keen on being vaccinated as a priority, the head of the Union of Hoteliers in Golden Sands, Georgi Shterev, said.

He repeatedly mentioned that immunization is optional, and that everyone should take into account their individual characteristics, preferences and health status. Also, BHRA showed its appreciation to the government for accepting new rules for entering the country as of May 1.

Mariana Nikolova, the Outgoing Tourism Minister, said a few days ago that till now, 86 000 employees of the tourism industry had expressed their inclination to get vaccinated. Bulgaria’s tourism industry, this summer, faces major problems, in the middle of reports of extensive cancellations of charter flights from Germany and the United Kingdom.
