Cynterra CEO Drago Gvozdanovic

Cybersecurity and data analysis firm Cynterra has won a major contract to provide the Australian Government’s Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) with a new generation Secure Internet Gateway (SIG).

Claimed by Cynterra as the first of its kind SIG, the gateway is based on Cynterra’s fully IRAP assessed Secure Cloud Platform (SCP), and involved years in research and development to deliver an “agile and scalable architecture with the ability to customise security gateways to different areas of a business” - allowing for compliance and enforcement of Government security requirements to any organisational environment.

According to Cynterra, the DTA’s selection of Cynterra’s SIG is a good example for Federal Government Agencies seeking flexible and cost-effective cloud solutions.

Drago Gvozdanovic, CEO of Cynterra said the DTA’s recognition of the benefits of Cynterra’s unique secure cloud platform is extremely rewarding and fuels the company’s vision to provide bespoke cloud gateway solutions.

“Traditionally, government agencies have relied on big-iron consolidated gateways which must continually grow in capacity to handle each and every varying requirement. This is expensive, slow and creates more opportunities for cyber-attacks,” said Gvozdanovic.

Cynterra’s secure cloud platform allows an architecture that tailors security to a specific application and its requirements. This approach reduces the attack surface of the organisation meaning if one environment is compromised, the others continue to operate independently.”

Gvozdanovic says the other major benefit over traditional gateways is Cynterra’s ability to configure client environments in less than one day, with all environments able to be assessed and interrogated through a single portal with a customised dashboard presenting information sources through a single touch.

“The DTA is focused on improving people’s experience of government services and we are continually looking at ways to help our government agencies achieve best practice by adopting services that are simple, clear and fast,” said Gvozdanovic.

“Cynterra’s secure cloud platform exceeded expectations by offering tailored gateways for different environments that can be up and running almost immediately.”

According to Cynterra, while the advantages of cloud SIGs over traditional ‘big iron’ solutions are many, the ones set to have the most beneficial impact for businesses include the enormous cost-savings, rapid deployment and a much-improved risk-profile.

We encourage CIOs, CISOs, and CEOs across the country to question their current gateway solution and embark on the move away from legacy hardware options to a cloud SIG, and begin reaping the benefits,” Mr Gvozdanovic concluded.
