CHENNAI: The Chennai district administration has warned that stern action would be taken against private licensed bars that are found to be violating the closure orders. The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced that all private bars should be shut from Monday as part of efforts to control the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases during the second wave. In a press release, the district collector said that all clubs holding FL2 licence and hotels attached with bars with FL3 licence must remain shut till further orders. There should be no sale of liquor in these facilities, the release added. A total number of 174 standalone bars, pubs, restro bars and bars in star hotels are operating in Chennai.
