Fire safety standards: Telangana HC rejects petition from colleges

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court rejected the petition of colleges filed after receiving the notice of the interim council on fire safety standards. The court also imposed costs of Rs. 25000 each for preferred frivolous petitions.

The bench of Chief Justice Hima Kohli and Judge B Vijaysen Reddy ordered the colleges to deposit the amount in the State Judicial Authority within two weeks.

It may be mentioned that the colleges disputed the notices issued by the interim council. In the notice, the board asked the colleges to keep their buildings on fire.

The bank heard the arguments from both sides and rejected the plea of ​​the colleges that the safety of the students is of paramount importance. Colleges have been ordered to make their buildings safe in accordance with fire safety standards.
