Hyderabad: A young man who makes Tik Tok videos and Instagram Reels is very common these days, but this elderly woman Chellam, who was apparently born an artist, has given a tough competition to many people through her unique content. With her grandson Akshay Partha Sarathy, who started making Tik Tok videos as a part-time job, there are now more than 243,000 followers on Instagram.
Part of how the journey began, Akshay, a lawyer by profession, shares that one night he uploaded a Tik Tok video with his grandmother. The next day, however, was a surprise for Akshay and his grandmother who got great views for the video, and then the bells rang in their minds.
“When I got a good answer for the Tik Tok video, I decided to post at least two videos with my grandmother in a month,” Akshay said, adding: “I stick to a minimum number of videos. , because along with positive answers we also received a lot of negative comments and I wanted to protect her from negativity ”.
However, the pandemic caused the duo to post videos regularly. After Tik Tok was banned, Akshay and Chellam started making Instagram Reels. Akshay recounted how he gave his grandmother such ‘wow’ expressions in the videos, saying: ‘It was actually natural for her. She is a very fun person and active. For us, it does not take much time to take a video, as we are done within five to ten minutes. Also, when we dance, I only choreograph simple steps that do not require her to move much, and this can be done with facial expressions and movement of the upper body. ”
Some of Akshay’s videos with his grandmother even looked 6 points and higher. “We are very overwhelmed by the love we receive. So many people out there immediately connect with my grandmother and even share their personal feelings through DMs. I think we have achieved great success by just connecting with people, ”Akshay shared.
Thanks to their reach in social media, there is no shortage of memorable incidents. ” A couple sent me a message saying they wanted to communicate with me through a video call. Due to financial constraints, the couple had to send the man’s mother to a nursing home. But after watching my fun videos with my grandmother for a long time, they realized what they were missing in life and brought the mother back. “I was completely speechless with the positive effect that we unconsciously make in public,” he said.
Akshay also made a Reel video with composer Anirudh Ravichander about his composition “Kutti Story” from the movie Master. The 22-year-old hopes to meet many more celebrities and have a positive impact on society.
