TO THE EDITOR:
As an ex-auto industry employee, it's sad to see the manufacturer of such a beautiful product in financial strife, both for the employees and the current and possible future purchasers of their products ("SsangYong in receivership as owner Mahindra fails to find buyer," autonews.com, April 15). I don't know about the rest of the world, but there simply has not been enough advertising and public education in Australia about SsangYong's beautiful products. Very few Australians know anything about them. This country loves SUVs and utilities — SsangYong vehicles should be all sold out here. Perhaps too little, too late.
I have been checking out these types of vehicles for some months now and consider SsangYong cars and utes to be great products and great value. However, due to the financial woes of the company, I will hold off for now.
