Delhi Capitals beat Sun Risers Hyderabad through super over in IPL cricket

In IPL Cricket, Delhi Capitals registered a thrilling win in the Super Over against SunRisers Hyderabad in Chennai last night. Both the teams scored 159 runs in the allotted 20 overs as a result the match went into the Super Over.

Axar Patel restricted Kane Williamson and David Warner to just seven runs. In reply, Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan chased the target on the last ball.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals have won the toss and elected to bat. A half-century from Prithvi Shaw (53 in 39 balls) and skipper Rishabh Pant’s 37-run knock in 27 balls guided Delhi Capitals to 159/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Prithvi Shaw was named Player of the Match. In response, Williamson’s unbeaten 66-run knock in 51 balls and Jagadeesha Suchith’s not-out 14-run cameo helped the side to equal the score in 20 overs.

For Delhi Capitals, Avesh clinched three wickets while Axar Patel bagged two wickets. For SunRisers Hyderabad, Siddarth Kaul claimed two wickets while Rashid Khan bagged one wicket. Delhi Capitals (DC) moved up to the second spot on the points table.

In another match yesterday, Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 69 runs in Mumbai.

Today, Punjab Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match will start at 7:30 pm.
